Biography

ADAPTOR was formed in 2010 by bass player Alex van Harn and multi-instrumentalist Robert van Rooij. Following a brief search, the lineup was completed with the addition of vocalist Cees Heijdel and drummer Bono Grotenbreg, establishing the band as a powerful four-piece unit.

In April 2012, ADAPTOR released their debut three-track promo Fire in the Hallway, accompanied by an official video released on YouTube. Building on this momentum, the band followed up in 2013 with their second EP, Slaves of Christ, further defining their sound and musical direction. The band performed numerous times in this era, ranging from private venues to local festivals.

Although ADAPTOR experienced two periods of inactivity between 2010 and 2026, the band reunited with renewed focus and creative energy. As of 2026, ADAPTOR is back in the studio, working on their first full-length album, marking a new chapter in the band’s history.
